After consulting with carers and professionals earlier this year, we have developed a draft Carers Breaks Strategy. Now, we want to hear from you again to make sure the priorities, recommendations and action plan are right, and we haven’t missed anything crucial.
There are two ways to share your views:
- Complete our online survey
- And/or attend an in-person workshop
Context
- Read a summary of the consultation’s findings and key priorities
- View the draft Carers Breaks Action Plan
- Here are the priorities we developed following the first consultation:

The survey
Our new online survey is open to all unpaid carers and professionals who support unpaid carers who live in the Manchester City Council area.
If you completed our initial survey back in January, you are still encouraged to complete this new survey.
We are particularly keen to hear from unpaid carers who
- Live in North or Central Manchester, or
- Are from any other ethnic group than White British, or
- Are men.
The workshops
You can also share your views at one of our friendly and engaging workshops. At the in-person workshop we’ll have light refreshments available. For your time you will receive a shopping voucher for £20, and travel expenses are paid. (Please bring receipts or photographs for public transport tickets, mileage, car parking costs, etc.)
The workshops are open to unpaid carers who
- live in the Manchester City Council area, or care for someone who lives in Manchester City Council area and
- who did not attend one of our workshops earlier in 2025.
