Carers Manchester Network is a group of VCSE organisations that support unpaid carers in Manchester. The members are a mixture of local and national charities and community-based organisations.

A network of VCSE organisations is a different way of supporting unpaid carers

  • A single organisation cannot meet the needs of the diverse population of unpaid carers in Manchester.
  • The network provides mutual support and promotes cross working, partnerships and cross referral.
  • The network shares information, resources and skills to strengthen organisations and the overall offer for carers.
  • The network members collaborate in capturing the benefits of the network, which will be used to demonstrate the value of being a part of it.

The network supports unpaid carers in Manchester

  • Through action: working together to meet the needs of carers and ensure that carers have access to a seamless delivery of support.
  • Raising awareness: sharing information on carer rights, support, events and activities taking place in Manchester for unpaid carers,
  • Sharing carer stories: amplifying carer voices to highlight what is relevant to them.
  • Improving services for unpaid carers: the network links to statutory services via the Carers Partnership Board; it needs to inform the strategic direction of all issues which affect carers by sharing service delivery experiences to influence policy and service delivery in local, regional and national level.
