Carers Manchester is a group of organisations that form the Carers Manchester Pathway, which provides support to carers in a variety of ways including telephone and face to face support, a learning and development programme, and services in your local area. Details of the support we provide can be found in Our Network & Who we are. Our new community based services are also being developed and are expected to go live in 2021.

Carers Manchester Contact Point

Carers Manchester Contact PointCarers Manchester Contact Point is a ‘first point of contact’ service that offers tailored support and advice to all unpaid carers in the Manchester City Council area.

We are a partnership of Gaddum, LMCP Care Link, Manchester Carers Forum and Wai Yin Society, working together to provide the contact point as part of the new Carers Pathway in Manchester.

Unwaged carers in Manchester are able access the contact point for information, advice and support for a range of issues with just a phone call, email or click of the mouse. Trained advice workers from all four organisations are able to answer your queries or direct you to the relevant service. No question is too big or too small.

Gaddum, LMCP Care Link, Manchester Carers Forum and Wai Yin Society have over 300 years of expertise between them in serving a diverse range of communities in Manchester including Chinese and South East Asian carers.

This means there are advice workers available to offer advice and support in different languages, on a range of issues including:

  • Benefits and financial advice
  • Bereavement support
  • Employment advice
  • Your rights as a carer
  • Older carers
  • Support for parent carers

We offer a safe space to talk about and discuss your caring role, and will be able to signpost you to community services should you need them, or make a referral for ongoing support.

Our Contact Point phone line – 0161 543 8000, is open Monday – Friday 10am – 4pm and 10am – 6pm on Wednesdays.

“Normally I don’t write emails but the Contact Point definitely deserves a BIG thank you!”, Carer

“I had no idea the Contact Point service could help with so many things and it’s a relief to me now to know about it!”, Carer

“I feel so supported”, Carer

Learning and Development Programme

We offer FREE online workshops that take place throughout the year for carers in Manchester. If you don’t live in Manchester but the person you care for does, you can still attend our workshops.

These workshops aim to provide carers with the tools they need to take control of their caring role as well as offer the opportunity to meet other carers and share experiences.

Topics include:  Managing Stress, Being a Carer and Welfare and Benefits.

Our work in the Community

We offer a range of support provided by 18 Carers Network members and three new neighbourhood services delivering support within local communities.

These services provide carers outreach and support services in North, Central and South Manchester. Click here to find out more.
