A single organisation cannot meet the needs of the diverse population of unpaid carers in Manchester. That is the reason why the Carers Manchester Network was set up. The Network brings together voluntary sector organisations which provide support and improve services for carers. Network members also support each other by sharing information, resources and skills.

This year, Parkinson’s UK submitted an expression of interest to join the Network. They wrote, “Parkinson’s UK is committed to supporting the needs of carers…. Being part of this Network will provide an opportunity for sharing best practice and uniting in addressing common issues. [Together we can] advocate for better policies, more comprehensive support systems, and develop innovative solutions to meet the unique needs of all carers.”

“We also hope to raise awareness about the specific challenges faced by carers of people with Parkinson’s, expand our reach across Manchester, and enhance quality of life for both carers and those they care for.”

Carers Manchester Network has accepted Parkinson’s UK and we are thrilled to have them on board.
