On Saturday 13th June, over 250 unpaid carers and their loved ones, plus staff and volunteers from local organisations, all came together at our Carers Celebration Evening.
Falling at the end of National Carers Week, the event was all about recognising the huge contribution unpaid carers make to our society.

Sefton from African and Caribbean Mental Health Services was a brilliant host, The Sheridan staff served up a delicious three-course meal, and Blue Lion Band kept the dancefloor buzzing. We were especially honoured to be joined by the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Shaukat Ali – who presented certificates to carers – and his wife, Lady Mayoress Kausar Parveen.
Special thanks go to our headline sponsors, Gaddum, Manchester City Council, and Alex Timpson Trust, for funding the event. We also thank all the individuals and local organisations who generously donated raffle prizes or helped subsidise costs, including: Cathy Cameron, F.C United of Manchester, Gail’s Prestwich, Graham Kennedy, HR Massage Therapies, Manchester United Foundation, PDC Manchester, Tesco Prestwich, and Village Greens Prestwich.
We really appreciate the help of carers on our Lived Experience Panel and partners from our Network who welcomed guests and ensured the night ran smoothly.
Thanks also to Eddy at Tangerine Event & Corporate Photography for these wonderful photos! We will email all attendees with a link to the full photo file in the next few days.
Finally, and most importantly, a huge thank you to all the carers who managed to attend the night and made it so special! We know that one night of celebration won’t fix the systemic issues that often leave carers overworked and undervalued, but we hope the evening provided a welcome sense of hope and connection.
