The Carers Manchester Contact Point will continue to operate over the festive season, with these changes…

  • Closed from 2pm on Christmas Eve
  • Closed on Christmas Day
  • Closed on Boxing Day
  • Closed from 2pm on New Year’s Eve
  • Closed on New Year’s Day

For emergencies outside of The Contact Point’s opening hours, we encourage carers to contact Manchester City Council Adult Social Care on 0161 234 5001. It’s always a good idea to plan ahead during the festive season and make a note of emergency contacts. The Contact Point is happy to provide further advice on preparing for the winter.

Carers Manchester Network members

African and Caribbean Mental Health Services

African and Caribbean Mental Health Services will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.

African Caribbean Care Group (ACCG)

ACCG will be closed from Thursday 25th December, reopening on Friday 2nd January.

Age UK Manchester

Age UK Manchester will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. They will close from lunchtime on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Their home care, residential care and home from hospital services operate 365 days per year.

Gaddum

Gaddum will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.

Lifted

Lifted will close on Monday 22nd December and reopen on Monday 5th January.

LMCP

LMCP will close on Thursday 25th December and reopen on Monday 5th January.

Manchester Carer’s Forum

Manchester Carers Forum will be closed Monday 22nd December until Friday 2nd January, reopening as usual on Monday 5th January.

Parkinson’s UK

The Parkinson’s UK national helpline (0808 800 0303) has the following festive-period hours:
  • Christmas Eve: 9am to 12pm
  • Christmas Day and Boxing Day: Closed
  • Saturday 27 December: 10am to 1pm
  • Sunday 28 December: Closed
  • Monday 29, Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 December: 10am to 1pm
  • Thursday New Years Day: Closed
Their normal hours (9am to 6pm Monday-Friday, 10am-1pm Saturdays) resume on Friday 2nd January.
