Manchester Museum opens its doors for a special event aimed at people aged 50 and over on this Age Friendly Culture Monday.
Not open to the public on Mondays, this is a unique opportunity to enjoy the Museum galleries at a quiet time and to get closer to its collections.
In this event, we are celebrating the UN International Day of Older Persons and Chung Yeung Festival, a Chinese celebration that promotes the nation’s virtues of respecting, caring, and supporting the elderly.
On the day, we are offering attendees the opportunity of participating in a Tea Ceremony, Chinese Calligraphy tasters and singing for wellbeing sessions. Also, you will find out more about Chung Yeung festival and how the Chinese community pays respect to its elders.
