Anne Marie joined the Employcare programme in October 2025, as the primary carer for both her son and father. In their first few sessions, Anne Marie and her coach set out of range of goals and explored the support that would be most useful for her.
With the support of her coach, Anne Marie created a CV and secured a low-cost personal computer from Community Computers.
She immersed herself in job searching, and enrolled onto a professionally accredited health and social care course. The course is online and has a flexible schedule, allowing Anne Marie to shape her studies around her caring responsibilities.
Anne Marie also researched volunteered opportunities and was accepted into multiple roles, allowing her to assess which would be most convenient as a carer.
Anne Marie’s coach noted that she “is an asset to her community and was a pleasure to work with throughout her engagement on the Employcare project. Carers Manchester wish her all the best going forward.”

The current season of Employcare has come to an end, but we may restart the programme in the future. Subscribe to our e-newsletter for updates.
In the meantime, we recommend The Growth Company’s employment support services.
