Carers Manchester is a group of organisations who work together to meet the needs of unpaid carers. Today, we’re pleased to announce a new organisation is now an official member of our Network. We hope you’ll join us in welcoming Age UK Manchester!

Who are Age UK Manchester?
Age UK Manchester is a local independent charity that provides a variety of support to unpaid carers. Their free-of-charge offer includes an Advice and Information Service, Counselling Service, Befriending Service, and Scams Prevention Service. Many carers also benefit greatly from their Ageing Well groups which provide a wide range of activities including exercise, gardening, and crafts. These groups give carers the invaluable opportunity to socialise and make new friends.
Joining the Carers Manchester Network
In their expression of interest to join the Carers Manchester Network, Age UK Manchester wrote,
“We are committed to supporting unpaid carers so that they are able to continue their caring role for as long as they wish to do so. Many of the carers we currently support are older people, some aged 80+ and with a full-time caring responsibility. We are very aware of the challenges they face and the sort of consistent support that is valuable to them. We hope that by joining the network we will gain an even greater awareness of the sources of support that might be available in Manchester and we will be able to share information on our services that might benefit others.”
We’re thrilled welcome such a well-respected and impactful charity join our Network. As Dan Mitchell, our Network and Engagement Co-ordinator, writes,
“It is a huge boon to have Age UK Manchester join the Carers Manchester Network – the breadth of experience they have in delivering services and support to both carers and cared-for will contribute hugely to the ongoing work of the Carers Manchester Network.”
