SUMMARY:Get Online Day @ Gorton Hub
DESCRIPTION:Get Online Week is Good Things Foundation’s annual digital inclusion campaign focused on enabling people to discover the benefits of being online\, and to build their confidence in using the internet – reducing the digital divide. \nGet Online Week runs from the 20th – 26th of October 2025 and the theme this year is to try one new thing! The Digital Inclusion team will be hosting two public events\, one in Central Library and one in Gorton Hub. \nThursday 23rd of October at Gorton Hub \nBetween 1pm and 4pm on Thursday afternoon\, Gorton Hub will be a transformed into a marketplace with stalls promoting digital inclusion services\, and deep dive sessions on online learning and staying safe online. \nYou’ll find NHS App support\, BorrowBox information and free data SIMs available. You will also find Citizens Advice\, AbilityNet\, Manchester City Council online reporting teams\, MAES\, MadLab digital support\, One Manchester and the JobCentre. \nWorkshops on offer at Gorton Hub:\n\nBoost your Career with Online Learning – 1-1.45pm\nImprove your job prospects using online tools with the National Careers Service. They will guide you through free online learning platforms\, teach you how to enhance your CV and prepare for interviews using your smartphone. You can sign up for free here.\nStaying Safe Online – 1-2.30pm\nDiscover simple steps to protect yourself and your data on the internet.
