The day will aim to raise awareness and knowledge of your rights as a carer\, and will feature carers speaking about their stories & experience. If you want to join others who care\, in a safe and supportive place\, to learn more about your rights\, please join us. \nThe day will feature discussion panels and/ or presentations on: \n\nCarers rights\nLegal advice for carers\, and\nSupport for Carers in Paid Employment\n\nAs well as stalls from local services and light refreshments. \nIn order to help people balance joining the event\, and their caring role\, we are hosting events on Thursday and Saturday. The Saturday event is being run specifically for those carers who are also in paid employment\, and would not be able to attend on Thursday. However\, if you are unable to attend on the Thursday for another reason\, please feel free to sign up for the Saturday event.

DESCRIPTION:Join Together Dementia Support for their monthly Dementia Café on the third Wednesday of every month at Minehead Court Community Café\, Old Moat M20 1NG from 1.30pm – 3.30pm. \nIt’s an opportunity for carers of people living with Dementia to socialise and share experiences over a cup of tea or coffee. Admiral Nurses will be available for advice. \nTheir volunteers will also run activities for the people living with Dementia so you can join the carers’ chat while they make new friends. DESCRIPTION:Join Manchester Parent Carer Forum for free flu jabs and blood pressure checks to parent carers of people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). \nWell Pharmacy will be visiting Martenscroft Sure Start Centre with their mobile health clinics. \nThe van contains two consultation rooms staffed by a pharmacist who is a fellow Manchester parent-carer. \n* If you are the full-time carer for someone\, it is advised that you take advantage of the free flu jab to protect both yourself and the person you care for. If you catch the flu and become too ill to leave home\, it may be more difficult or impossible for you to continue looking after the person you care for.
