DESCRIPTION:Text from organiser: \nManchester Museum opens its doors for a special event aimed at people aged 50 and over on this Age Friendly Culture Monday. \nNot open to the public on Mondays\, this is a unique opportunity to enjoy the Museum galleries at a quiet time and to get closer to its collections. \nIn this event\, we are celebrating the UN International Day of Older Persons and Chung Yeung Festival\, a Chinese celebration that promotes the nation’s virtues of respecting\, caring\, and supporting the elderly. \nOn the day\, we are offering attendees the opportunity of participating in a Tea Ceremony\, Chinese Calligraphy tasters and singing for wellbeing sessions. DESCRIPTION:Led by experienced dance artist Jody\, this relaxed and fun session is for anyone living with Parkinson’s and their support network. Using a wide range of music\, sessions will develop physical strength\, spacial awareness\, balance and motor skills. \nSessions are £3\, first session free. SUMMARY:South Manchester Parkinson's Support Group
DESCRIPTION:We are a social and support group for people with Parkinson’s and their partners or carers who live in South Manchester and\nsurrounding areas. We meet once a month\, on the second Monday of the month\, at Didsbury Good Neighbours in Didsbury Park. People start gathering for the meeting at 12pm which typically lasts an hour or two. You can just turn up and will be welcomed. \nDonations from visitors and members to help with our running costs and provision of refreshments\, are very welcome. Typical donations are £6 pp. Several members also opt for shared lunch which costs £4 pp (those that want lunch will be asked in advance) Alternatively you can bring your own lunch. \nThere is sometimes a guest speaker offering information about a topic of interest to the group. The group also organises social gatherings and outings\, where you can get to know other people facing the same challenges as yourself. DESCRIPTION:Get Online Week is Good Things Foundation’s annual digital inclusion campaign focused on enabling people to discover the benefits of being online\, and to build their confidence in using the internet – reducing the digital divide. \nGet Online Week runs from the 20th – 26th of October 2025 and the theme this year is to try one new thing! SUMMARY:Move and Live Well with Parkinson's class- North Manchester
DESCRIPTION:Led by experienced dance artist Jody\, this relaxed and fun session is for anyone living with Parkinson’s and their support network. Sessions can be taken seated or standing and adapted for anybody. \nSessions will begin sitting with gentle movements focusing on mobility and body awareness. Using a wide range of music\, sessions will develop physical strength\, spacial awareness\, balance and motor skills. \nSessions are £3\, first session free. There will be refreshments provided and social time included. Partners/carers are encouraged to join. Bring water\, comfortable loose clothing and supportive shoes. \nThere is a small car park at the church\, as well as on street parking. Meet up for a lovely walk around Wythenshawe park. \nThe group meet up at the Cafe from there they set off as a group. Half way around the walk the group splits into two groups.
