DESCRIPTION:Text from organiser: \nThis session will be delivered by students from The University of Law and is FREE to book for parents and carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) in Manchester. \nThe presentation will cover: \n\nChild in Need and the duties of the Local Authority (LA)\n\nSection 17 of the Children’s Act : Duty to children in need – what is a Child in Need?\nLooked after in care of the LA\nSection 20 of the Children’s Act\n\n\nParental Responsibility (PR)\n\nWho has PR?\nWhat happens when the child turns 18?\nPerhaps also why does it matter?\n\n\nContact\n\nLong term foster care\nSection 34 of the Children’s Act\nTypes of contact – supervised and unsupervised\nRight to contact\n\n\nBest interests of the child & court proceedings\n\nSection 1 of the Children’s Act\nPublic Law Outline (PLO) meetings\nEntitlement to legal aid\n\n\n\nLunch will be provided at the end of the session. \nPlease let us know if you need any help with booking a place or with transportation to/from the venue. \n\nAbout the Trainers:\nThe session will be delivered by students from The University of Law\, with thanks to Fay Sayers (Senior Tutor & BPC LLM Supervisor\, Pro Bono Co-ordinator/Supervising Solicitor\, and Fellow of the HEA at The University of Law) for coordinating the session. \nAcknowledgements:\nWe are also grateful to the SEND Local Offer for making this possible. \n  \nOnline Event click here

DESCRIPTION:Text from organiser: \nEvery Wednesday\, staff and carers and family who attend Lifted. Meet up for a lovely walk around Wythenshawe park. \nThe group meet up at the Cafe from there they set off as a group. Half way around the walk the group splits into two groups. One for those who want to do the 1 mile walk\, the other group for those who want to do a 2 or 3 mile walk. \nThe group meet back up at the cafe for a hot drink and a chat. \n  \nWe welcome all new walkers regardless of walking ability we cater for everyone!
